ARTIST & CALLIGRAPHER
Martha Days' founder, Martha Yovi, was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has this passion towards art and handcraft goods ever since she learned oil painting and craftsmanship while in Junior High School. She was a part timer at an art gallery in college and this experience has intrigued her to explore deeper her passion in arts and handcraft world.
Inspired by her mom, driven by her passion, ignited on the day she did her DIY wedding in New Zealand, the long research and many trials and error to strengthen her knowledge about fine arts, crafts, typography and calligraphy.
She moved to United States in 2013, with her graphic design background, she was self-teach herself calligraphy in 2013 and started in calligraphy world in mid of 2014.
She is an active member of IAMPETH (The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting) in February 2015 and is currently pursuing the certificate program by IAMPETH.
Amazed by the beautiful Spencerian Script and Ornamental Penmanship, she took Online Spencerian class with Harvest Crittenden for 6 weeks in early 2016, and then Advanced Spencerian Saga which was held for a full week in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio in October 2016.
She also has taken classes taught by master penman and engraver, John DeCollibus, and as well as workshop taught by master pen woman Heather Victoria Held and other Master penmen/penwoman.
She has now shares her passion in handcrafts, calligraphy art through doing collaboration with other artists, teaching, creating logo designs, custom order invitation suite designs for events and organizing talented artists' workshops throughout Asia and Australia.
The first overseas workshop she organized was for a well known professional calligrapher from USA, Michael G. Ward's workshop which was held in Singapore in March 2018.
